Need to Upgrade Your Old Computer? Consider This $45 SSD (Really!)

Do you have an old computer that you want to speed up? Adding an SSD is an easy and quick way to do that.

This 250 GB drive is super-cheap now ($45) but is great quality (I have one, which cost me $85 about a year ago).

You may need an inexpensive USB adapter to copy the contents of your old drive to your new one. Samsung has a utility that makes the process easy.

I love Humble Bundle for some of the book and software deals they offer. This one is especially good, particularly for those that want to edit photos or videos or create CG artwork.

#100DaysOfCode – Come Join the Fun!

Have you wanted to learn how to program but lacked the support? #100DaysOfCode is a formal (but flexible) process with a clear set of rules designed to motivate you. Part of the process involves sharing your goals and progress via social media and your files via GitHub, which is a free online repository website and version control service which many teachers are now using as an alternative to a traditional website.

Things are heating up in education in Ontario, not for the good. 93% of CUPE employees have given the authorization to strike. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
