I’ve been experimenting with creating custom GPTs to make my workflow in Obsidian (my primary note-taking app) much smoother. Two of these GPTs have quickly become essential tools for me:
1. Find Keywords
This GPT lets me paste in any article or block of text, and it automatically generates a clean list of keywords. Even better—it formats them directly in Obsidian link format, so I can copy and paste them into my notes without any extra editing. It’s a simple way to build a connected web of topics in my vault.
2. Obsidian Topic Page Generator
This one pairs perfectly with the keywords. I can take any keyword and instantly turn it into a topic page. The GPT generates structured content for that page, including:
- A top-level summary or definition
- Historical context (if relevant)
- Core concepts, usage, or architecture
- Recommended readings and external links
Together, these two GPTs help me move from raw text → keywords → structured topic pages with almost no friction.
A Few Notes
- You’ll need a ChatGPT account to use them. If you’re on a free account, you may find usage is restricted.
- They’re free to use, there’s no catch, and I don’t make any money from them.
That’s it. Just tools I’ve built to make my own note-taking process faster and more organized, that hopefully other people might also appreciate and use.
